Freedom Don’t Cost Much
Love and Light for your Friday!
Nathan Peoples is a Baltimore native high school sophomore and poet. In the ninth grade, he joined the poetry club at his school with a high interest in literature and passion for poetry.
Nathan states, “I figured that the poetry club would be the best place to develop and have people who shared my passion to critique my work. There, I met Billy Williams, who became not only my teacher but also my mentor. He helped me to develop my passion for poetry and I became more confident in my abilities. I grew a pressing desire to test – and prove – the right to call myself a poet.”
To date, Nathan has been the winner and recipient of several poetic competitions including the 2014 NAACP ACT-SO [Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics] High School Competition, 2012 Teen Fest (Raleigh-Durham), a participant of the Annual Juneteenth Festival (North Carolina), and a participant of Cinematography.
At 15 years-old, he plans to study music production and visual effects this summer at The American University in Washington, D.C. His aspirations include becoming a renowned and respected wordsmith who shares his philosophies on life through poetry.
